President Banda and mourning Bingu wa Mutharika
The blog has been quite for sometime due to a delibarate Policy to see what the new administration is all about. The other part is the unbelievable stupidity of the loud mouths in the Democratic Progressive Party who today want to heap all the blame on the departed President Bingu wa Mutharika.
One of the loudest is Zomba Central MP Yunus Mussa, who made the President, then Vice President Joyce Banda cry day and night. He wanted to destroy the Peoples Party at all costs.
The President I still recall one evening called me, almost in tears, "My son they have arrested another set of people, what should I do." There was nothing she could do.
There is a woman in Zomba known as Mai Basikolo, there is Lawrence Mpofu- the major target of the Mussa's machinery and there are many others who decided they will follow and die for Joyce Banda long time ago. I was so amused by declaration of loyalty by Yunus Mussa and how quickly he forgot the pain he inflicated on others. It was not the late Bingu, it was Yunus who gave orders, who got dozens Peoples Party supporters locked and it is time he faced reality.
The other element of keeping quite, was to witness the drama that is engufling the State House, people are literally camping and attending events not related to their work. I have seen Civil Society leaders who have made it a habit to join members of the press. I am sure everybody is job hunting into Government. Yes at the peak of excitment, everbody wants to be associated with power.
On the new appointments, I agree with the choice of Lot Dzonzi, a man I call abusa, he comes and preach at Kapita CCAP and to many we have been puzzled why no President saw him as an Inspector General. I came to conclusion is that everybody feared his honesty. President Banda should for sure be prepared for an honest Police service.
I congratulate her for bringing back her boys who were rudely chased from her. These security men, they loved JB, went beyond their jobs to protect her and in the time she needed people to protect her, the team was there for her.
I am not sure about Moses Kunkuyu being a Minister of Information, you need someone with a grasp of many issues to be a Government spokesperson not the past tragic comedy of a Minister. I am happy for Moses and his 'boys' as we spoke long at Parliament. I am happy that the President is recognising potential of the young generation. Perhaps, its a start we will see many young people in crucial positions.
On Benson Tembo, there is a huge debate, he has been there and the station never opened. He has been outside the media for sometime to appreciate the rapid changes that have happened in the sector. More importantly he goes to have a team of liars, bootlickers and politicians Malopa gave power in the name of being loyal to him.
I wish Dr. Tembo well, but I ask him to develop a new team, bring back experienced people especially those that have proven to have capacty to work without political influence. He should redeploy the rest who were praise singers, as just like their DPP masters, they are defecting again in spirit.
The rest of appointments I will be commenting later as they happen, surfice to say Joseph Mwananvekha as I went to Treasury yesterday was a very unpopular Secretary to the Treasury, let him ask himself what he did wrong as his staff welcomed us and celebrated his departure.
The President has started well, but for many looking for jobs, I say go back home and find your way to contribute to her presidency without necessarily being in Government.
If she asked me what I want from her, I will tell my President, my Mother, I want you to do what you promised Malawians when we travelled wide and far, when we run away from stones and teargas.
I want her to restore my flag, restore my dignity not to queue for fuel or sugar, not to write with fear, not to sleep at my freinds houses, not to think my company will be closed, not to remove my number plates afraid of attacks.
Since she ascended into the throne, I can sleep confortably without fear, I can drive at night without checking every vehicle thinking its following me. Thats all I wanted as a Malawian.
On my part, I want to continue as a Journalist, to write the truth, even if it might hurt her, but it will help her.
I recall her numerous complaints "Kondwani ukafuna kulemba umangotenga po baya, mmawa ndili pa moto" I told her she spoke the truth. The truth, an annointed woman of God, she will understand is what we will proclaim.
It felt good to call you, Your Excellency on Tuesday, the first time I saw her since becoming President of the REPUBLIC OF MALAWI. This blog wishes you well and hope you will continue reading it from the high office.
My condolences to Professor Peter Mutharika and family. I have come to respect and admire the professor for holding his own views on many topics. It sad the people who kept telling his brother lies and himself lies, today are dumping him and using his name as part of dirt. There is a reason God creates every situation, we pray for his family to live beyond this painful isolation and trust in God. Unfortunately the path for the Democratic Progressive Party looks doomed, mainly by the same people that killed President Bingu wa Mutharika with lies. They lied about some of us supporting Joyce Banda, Atupele and others. They lied about Nation, about Churches, NGO's, Opposition and even the Army. They created pressure against an old man of 78 years and killed him.
I will mourn the President for his vision and dreams to transform Malawi. I will write a special piece when his body arrives. As of now, we are witnessing a new era.
Long live Malawi
God Bless the President and us all.
To those that followed transition on the blog, thank you for your feedback. The blog will start realtime updates from this afternoon as breaking news occur. Only one promise I can make- I intend to remain a Journalist for the next decade and tell the Malawian story- honestly and truthfully.
So help me God!

I think now is the time when the actual truth be laid in black and white. Some say he died on arrival to SA, while others say on arrival to KCH.
