My Dream Cabinet: let Malawians debate add comments please

When God answers prayers, many forgot it is him that has done so. Many opportunists have appeared on the scene now, each claiming to love Joyce Banda than her foot soldiers in the Peoples Party. The foot soldiers include her Sisters Cecilia and Anjimile, the bodyguards who gave their lives, the boys and girls who included that mad cook friend of mine, Ruth Govati and her husband Tim, the many staff that despite the fear, threats and intimidation stood with her.

I am talking of the foot soldiers Khumbo Kachali, Mary Makungwa, Clement Stambuli, Salim Bagus, Kizito Ngwembe, that Ntchisi based Campaign Director, Lawrence Mpofu, Mai Basikolo, Che Msosa, Steven Mwenye, Henry Chibwana, Chivunde, Agnes Nkusa Nkhoma, that Regional Director of Women Central, Jane Banda.

I am talking of people like Paul Maulidi and others who travelled the road when it was rough, when nobody liked it and when people feared their jobs. I am talking of those women and youth who danced and protected Joyce Banda as she travelled.

The question is what does she do with such people. I suggest she keep most of them, loyal and dedicated to strengthen the party. Some of them deserve higher positions as they share the vision and dream of everybody.

Last time I suggested a Cabinet before Bingu called, I was called and threatened. It is in my habit to speculate but the final decision rests with the President.

But I suggest that for some critical positions including the Cabinet, my dream Cabinet would be:

  • H.E the State President: Mrs. Joyce Banda

Goodal is a good technocrat but the politician in him has betrayed malawians big time. we have other equally capable people. he should be relieved. How about Ralph Jooma, i think he is good too.

Good List and ideas. However few pointers. If this would be cabinet what about the democracy we cherish? First combining all the parties that are in parliament provides no room for critical thinking. I am just thinking the combination of UDF, MCP, DPP, PP, AFORD then the whole parliament will be government.

So in my opinion, JB should at least bring people from PP and just maybe some from current cabinet. Much as i would love to see Menyani at youth ministry, but if reasoning was to prevail there are equally qualified youth outside MPs who can deliver and stood with JB during the trying times. Let MCP, UDF and DPP be in opposition. I thought Atupele has an agenda for Change or has it been burried together with former president Bingu?
We need string and vibrant opposition for the sustenance of democracy in Malawi at least history has teach us that.
One person forgotten is Levi Mwase who also stood with JB in the list

Am really not comfortable with the inclusion of DPP ministers in the cabinet. we will go back to the same problems. She needs something new all together, she can even get ministers from outside parties as she nurtures them to become future MPs. the likes of Goodall and the rest is not on
Great! I would have loved if JZU was put in Finance.
The list is great. I agree with Gerald and GuguNyinda on Goodall Gondwe, he needs to be relieved after betraying the nation so bad. Trust is an important factor in work relationship and I don't think with the likes of Goodall, it will work.
I don't entirely agree with Fryson, I think a few people from opposition will be great as long as they are able to stand there ground as watch dogs. People like JZU and Atupele are potential resources for furthering development and national unity. I would go with the list with the few changes.
The other thing that is important is that these people don't forget the mandate that the public has entrusted them with.
